FAQs
Where is your company located?
We are located in the western suburbs of Chicago.
Since your office is virtual, where do you tutor?
We offer virtual services, and in-person could be at a library or your home (after initial library sessions - for safety reasons).
What are your available hours?
Hours may vary from mornings to evenings during the summer months. Sessions are also available by appointment, through the week and on weekends, as needed during the regular school year.
What subjects/services do you offer?
The main/core subjects are reading and math at all levels. Test prep and other specialized subjects, including different areas of math may be available.
What virtual platform do you use?
Google Meets or Zoom will be used. Other options may be available if needed.
How do I know if my child needs tutoring?
If your child is having difficulties with any of the core skills listed on the home page, then tutoring may be beneficial. Minted Minds Tutoring will conduct an initial assessment to determine your child's strengths/weaknesses according to their grade level.
What outcomes should I expect from tutoring?
Tutoring does not replace individual practice at home. Parents/guardians should be clear about what services are wanted (test prep, increase grades, increase standardized test scores, homework help, etc.). Based on services needed, a personalized plan will be made for the student.
How do I schedule an appointment?
Click on the blue "Book now" button at the bottom of the page.
How long are the tutoring sessions?
Sessions can range from 1 hour to 2 hours.
How much are the sessions?
Please see the pricing page for specifics.
How far in advance should I schedule?
Please allow at least three business days in advance.
What if I need to reschedule or cancel?
Please call/email within two hours of the scheduled session.
What should parent/child do prior to initial meeting with tutor to ensure the best use of time?
Parents should obtain copies of most recent standardized test reports (iReady, MAP, IAR, etc.). Child should discuss with parent and note what subjects/skills they find challenging or need help with. This information AND our assessment will help develop the best plan for the child.
